- FAQ - How do I check my IP adress?

If you are part of a computer network or just have ADSL at home, you will probably have heard of the term IP adress. This stands for "Internet Protocol" adress, but we will get into that in a later tutorial. This tutorial will guide you through the rather simple [yet often confusing] process of checking you ip address.
Step 1.
Open your start menu and click on the "run" button as shown below.

Step 2.
When the run box opens, type "cmd" in the given space[see below]. Then click "ok".

Step 3.
When the command window opens, type "ipconfig /all" then press enter.

Step 4.
Final Step. Ok, the information that you are looking for is hilighted in the image below. This is your IP Adress, Sub-net Mask, Default Gateway, Prefered and Secondary DNS servers. With this information, our technicians will be able to diagnose many network related errors.
- FAQ - How do I run a quick scan with Escan?

If you are a client of Storm Business Solutions that has Escan, then you probably would have heard us speak of Escan's Quickscan feature. Its likely that the first thought that went through your mind was something like, "That doesen't sound very effective...". Well its quite the opposite in fact, Escan's Quickscan is just about the best way to scan your system.
As an extra sevice to you, our clients, we have written this little tutorial to make life a little easier for you folks out there.
Running a Quickscan with the Escan Antivirus System:
Step 1
Open the start Menu.

Step 2.
Browse to all programs->escan for windows->quick scan your system.

Step 3.
Double click on "Quickscan your system" to open the quickscan. When you do, you should see a window open stating MWAV on it as in the image below.

Step 4.
Once the Quickscan window [MWAV] opens, make sure to select the correct boxes as depicted below. This selection is for scanning every hard drive and/or cd drive in your computer. This will look for all forms of virii, spyware and registry errors in your pc. Once the selection is made, press "Scan & Clean".

Step 5.
When The scan starts, a window will pop up [see below] that will tell you that the scan will take a long time to complete and ask you if you want the pc to be shut down when the scan is completed. Select "No" at this window. The reason for this is so that we can see how many virii ect. were found as well as weather or not it managed to clean/delete all of the offending files.

Step 6.
This is the final step. Once the scan is completed, please do not forget to call one of our technicians, we will be able to ascertain weather or not any further action is required. Once you get the ok from our technicians click the ok button as in the image below.
